#3Mixx

This past weekend I had a chance to spin at one of this summer's biggest events; #3mixx brought to you by Hustler Records, ChangeMakers Org, Da Team Ent, and Qua (55th St). This event was preceded by #Mixx and #ReMixx which were also notable events that brought people from all over the city of Philadelphia under one roof for a night of fun, free from violence and conflict. The twist with this event was "3rd time's a charm" and I had a chance to share the platform with 2 other Philadelphia well respected DJ's,  DJ Ricochet & DJ Boo. All in all it was a great night where I had a chance to meet new faces and link up with some of my folks all the while sporting Abstract Thought latst "DOPE Tank"

#TheMarque x “My Culture Speaks”

One of the best aspects of Internet radio is the freedom and flexibility to design your show with limited instruction so that listeners are offered an experience not achievable by mainstream radios. At #TheMarque we aim to do just that; occasionally being called “Slander Radio” as a nickname, we tend to use current events for comic relief in hopes to help educate some or inform others. Other times we do take the mainstream radio route and host interviews with established MC’s, Singers, Bloggers, and Fashion Stylists. This past week we had a chance to sit down with 1/2 of the Young Gunz, Neef Buck, and gain some insight on upcoming projects, his history in the hip hop culture, and his position on the current state of hip hop. Quita D (@MarquitaAD), C.Diddy (@_CDiddy), and myself (@DjAYEboogie) had chance to team up with My Culture Speaks to capture the interview for those who weren’t listening or watching at the time.  It was definitely an informative conversation, be sure to follow him @Neef_Buck on twitter and check out the intervew below…

“WelcomeToTheAYE Vol 2″

If you’re not already familiar, WelcomeToTheAYE is a collection of Down South hits that will likely be never make it to the ears of Northern listeners. Much of the music forced upon us is filtered by mainstream media, yet I have a solution. Working on my second edition, WelcomeToTheAYE Vol 2 upholds the standard of ratchet, turnt up, blowing money, ignorant music we have come to love AND it’s free (music to every colored person’s ear) Check it out …
