The Weigh In Tour

I recall a conversation back in 98’ between my sister & cousin discussing who they felt would make it in the rap game; Jay-Z or DMX. For the sake of our argument 12 years later, both rappers are still in the game. One more relevant then the other, but your opinion may be different had you visited the TLA this past Sunday for The Weigh In tour with DMX. I had the opportunity to spin for aspiring artists and familiar names, BonesHR & Team 1Thing (Al & Dana Black) who were among a host of acts who opened up for the concert. Despite the 2hr window of time where we were absolutely clueless as to whether we may or may not see a show fans became restless. It wasn’t until a familiar “dog growl” that we became convinced the X man had finally entered the building. There to capture the footage were the homies Nick (hot 107.9) and B.Wyche (hiphopsince1987) … Check out a few pics below ….

Moment of Clarity

“thank god for granting me, this moment of clarity, this moment of honesty, the world will feel my truth” S.Carter

I’ve learned from my past experience sometimes you have to take a moment to reflect, vent, show appreciation, think, or what have you. Although I have only been Djing for 2years, 3months, and 8 days (who’s counting though) I feel that I have come across something genuine, the people. Being from the city of brotherly love does not automatically grant you the support of your peers and predecessors. In my two years I have been afforded the opportunity to rock everything from some of Philadelphia’s most notable events, share concert stages with well-known recording artist, all the way to a “hole in the wall” neighborhood bar. I say this to say that no matter if it is 1200, 20,000, or 7 people, I truly appreciate every opportunity God has placed before me. Huge thank you to all who have supported me via attending events, downloading mixtapes, or just sharing some kind words in person. Your support has not gone unnoticed…

WelcomeToTheAYE Vol III

“Hip-Hop can be limiting, and I refuse to accept limits” – LL Cool J

In a continuous effort to bridge the gap between down south & up north we find ourselves back for the third installment of DjAYEboogie’s “WelcomeToTheAYE” series. Since its origin, the WelcomeToTheAYE series has provided northern listeners with the heavy bass, catchy lyrics, and ratchet content that drive our beloved nightlife.

As a DJ, in a competitive environment, being the first to break a record has always been the motive to continue to produce such mixtapes. Volume I & II consisted of tracks such as “Racks”, “Magic”, “I’m Throwed” and “Beef It Up”, all the while introducing artists such as Future, K.Camp, Stuey Rock and F.L.Y. For most of us hip-hop heads we may have been familiar with the artists named above, however for those who are not we have DJs taking that risk to educate you; DjAYEboogie

Rainy Days

Back for the third time … Day Party … It was a challenge this go round facing the predicted thunderstorms accompanied by the annual Roots Picnic, however the team still pulled through. I initially set up outside and planned for the outdoor extravaganza until the rain came, I moved indoors on the main floor. After noticing that the two main floors could not house the number of guests the day party has attracted they were forced to open the annex. Add that up … 3 floors of partying under 1 roof … #ROLLIN !!! As always shouts to 80sBabyRick, Sunny, DTE, & ChrisSoFly,  HipHopSince1987 for photos, Social Scenes TV for the video footage, myself and Jovi for the soundtrack … Photos below
