Given the brash and ignorance of our urban culture many cookouts and block-parties have been postponed. I was slightly reluctant to accept many of the gigs that come due to the increased violence of our city. Despite these harsh realities and weather conditions, the NFLxEST weekend continued. Sponsored by Vitamin Water, the cookout did as expected bringing out a host of family and friends. Plenty of food, drinks, and music for all to enjoy. Check out a few photos below …

Fresh off my 10 1/2 hour flight from Venezia, Italy right back into the swing of things. Kicking off the Smokers Club Tour former Three 6 Mafia member and latest Taylor Gang initiate, Juicy J, took the stage at The Blockley Pourhouse. Opening acts included Smoke DZA, Joey Bada$$ and DC native, Fat Trel; all of which will be opening for the remainder of the tour. I often joke about it but witnessed it first hand … Juicy J is like no other of authentic ratchetness.

July 5th I had the privilege to link up and spin for the homies from the Phlight School. During the event I was able to reach back and tune into classic rap, while bridging the gap with modern hip hop. It was great to have an audience appreciate REAL hip hop music; simply kick drums & snare claps with occasional vocal samples. Join us every first Thursday at Kung Fu Necktie for a true lesson in hip hop.

TONIGHT !!!! I join the “Underground Phresh” campaign with the homies over at Phlight School. They have continued to provide the city with fundamental hip hop and are well-respected in my opinion. I will be spinning along side my comrade Philly Will to provide the sound track … what more you need to know…BE THERE !!!
